Elizabeth’s #read99women recommendation is Julia Kelly's historical novel THE WHISPERS OF WAR. She says, “World War II is a particular interest of mine, since my dad and uncle fought in the war and I love books that are about female friendships. THE WHISPERS OF WAR is such a beautiful, heartrending story of three friends who struggle to remain loyal when one of them is threatened with internment by the British Government. The friendship between Nora, Marie and Hazel just felt so real. I felt like I was there in London in those early months of the war. You will think about this book long after you turn the last page.”
