YAY! It's officially official!
My next book, GIRL IN DISGUISE, about the first female private detective in the US, is coming out from Sourcebooks next year. Here's the Publishers Marketplace announcement:
Now that we're into 2016, most of the end-of-year lists have come out already -- so I was very pleasantly surprised to see THE MAGICIAN'S LIE pop up on a Library Journal list of Favorite 2015 Debuts.
They called the book "lyrical and mesmerizing" and suggested that "readers will root for Arden, even as they are unsure of whether to trust her." (Author's note: good, that's what I was going for!)

I CANNOT BELIEVE I FORGOT TO BLOG ABOUT THIS.
In December, guest judge Whoopi Goldberg (!) chose THE MAGICIAN'S LIE (!!) as the Main Selection (!!!) for the Book of the Month Club (!!!!)
You can watch a video of her talking about why she loves the book here on YouTube. I may or may not have seen it approximately 3284 times.
Been putting off buying your e-book of THE MAGICIAN'S LIE? Wait no more! If you read on a device, it's under $5 all week for whatever device you read on.
Grab it on iTunes.
Grab it on Google Books.
So thrilled to see the recent announcement that THE MAGICIAN'S LIE made School Library Journal's end-of-the-year list of Best Adult Books 4 Teens 2015! Thanks, lovely librarians!
You can see the full list of 22 books, including great company like Judy Blume and Joyce Carol Oates, at this link.

Unrelated: I finally figured out how to add photos to the blog. Look, Arden's in Target!
We've had some stock hiccups during the first week of The Magician's Lie paperback availability -- booo! The good news is, they're all being fixed, so you should soon be able to order your copy of TML in paperback via Amazon and Target.
The even better news is, you can order it right now from Powell's and it'll be on its way to you in a day or two.
Also, some of the stock issues are caused by the fact that lots of people are buying the book, and believe me, that's never bad!
And buying in person at your local independent bookstore, Target, or Barnes & Noble is never a bad idea either.
Thanks for your patience! Just want to make sure readers can get their hands on this book in whatever way at whatever speed -- if you want a book, you should have it! Enjoy.
So I was on morning TV. And it was terrifying. But I think the finished product worked out pretty well. Right now it's near the top of this page -- no telling how long it'll last, so if you want to watch, watch soon!
THE MAGICIAN'S LIE is out in paperback today! And not only can you get it at fine independent bookstores, B&N and online, but it's the Target Book Club Pick for October! I'm going to drive around eastern Iowa signing books at Target stores to celebrate.
Coincidentally, McDonald's starts serving breakfast all day TODAY. Coincidence? I don't know, but if I get hungry between Targets, I'm stopping for a sausage biscuit.
Happy paperbacking!
